Tidbit: Matthew 16: 17, 23

Jesus answered, “You are blessed, Simon son of Jonah. No one taught you that. My Father in heaven showed you who I am.

Then Jesus said to Peter, “Get away from me, Satan ! You are not helping me! You don’t care about the same things God does. You care only about things that people think are important.”

God gave Peter a supernatural revelation of Jesus Christ and Peter (most likely) didn’t even realize it because of how seamless and naturally it came out… how many times does God reveal things to you and/or through you without you even realizing it?!?!?! 🤯😄🥰

On a flip side, Peter also probably didn’t realize he was voicing Satan’s desires when he tried to tell Jesus not to be crucified. Peter is a perfect example of how a sincere heart, coupled with man’s sinful nature, can lead to disaster. When Peter rebuked Jesus, that was not in line with what the Word of God foretold would happen. We can avoid this by testing our thoughts against the Word of God.

If you have pledged your allegiance to King Jesus, then we have an advantage. We have the Holy Spirit who will lead and guide us to all truth. If we follow His lead, the Holy Spirit will prompt us to check ourselves when we’re going off track. By staying on His path, we can enjoy supernatural revelations to and through us more often as we mature in Christ. 💜
