A Good Thing

Last Sunday I thoroughly enjoyed going to church 😁

God helped me connect the dots and I want to document it. My brother leads worship at our church and he was singing a line from a song that says, “surely goodness and mercy will follow me.”

As we worshipped and sang that line, God reminded of another verse, that “he who finds a wife finds a good thing.” My brother is not married yet and my Indian parents (or parents in general) are ready to see him start his own family. God gave me a confidence that since he has made the Lord his Shepherd (a reference to the beginning of the psalm the song lyric is from), God will bring him a wife through whom he will see the goodness of God following him.

Amazing.

And there’s more. A little background is needed before I share the “more.” I am single but not available – my husband officially moved out about two years ago, but I’m still not divorced. I don’t want this post to go into the controversy of divorce; there are biblical grounds for us to get divorced. However, God has been telling me to wait and so I have. During the waiting, God has been healing me, my kids, and even my parents and brother who also witnessed what we went through.

Back to last Sunday. After I had that confirmation about my brother, I was thanking God for his future wife, that she will be a good addition to our family. From there, God went to me. I have a hope that I will enjoy the relationship of a God-honoring marriage one day. So now God was not only speaking to me that one day I will be a wife but affirming me in love and reminding me that being a wife is a good thing, therefore I am a good thing! 🥰

There is a guy somewhere who has made the Lord his Shepherd and I will be the goodness of God that he will find one day. Wow!

So for anyone desiring a godly marriage, let me remind you that God will do the work for us. Us ladies need to keep growing into the women who will be the good and godly wives for our future husband to find. Or, for the men, you need to make the Lord your Shepherd and dwell in the house of the Lord so that you will find the goodness and mercy of God in a wife at His appointed time.

This is definitely easier said than done but know that we wait together and remember that God is faithful even when we are not, because He cannot deny Himself.
